Carlo Amantea is an artist whose forms and colour discover something we have not yet seen – they are very much his own inventions. He absorbs the visual art wisdom of the last fifty years without imitating it; he paints on a high level, with his own voice. Without his ambition and without his long development – maturation, he would have achieved only a local standing.”
