Cynthia Chapman, a distinguished figure in the Canadian contemporary art scene, celebrates 20 years of profound creativity with the opening of her solo exhibition featuring both early and new works. Reflecting on two decades since her graduation from OCAD University in 2003, Chapman's oeuvre has contributed to the vibrancy of Canadian art. "For the past twenty years, my canvases have been a conversation with the world around me," explained Chapman.
Cynthia Chapman employs a wide spectrum of colours in her abstract paintings, alternating between bold expressionism and softer, calmer palettes. Chapman layers her compositions with a thick impasto, treading heavily along the horizon, which weaves in and out of their strategically placed blocks of colour.
