Brock University's Second Annual Exhibition at 13th Street Gallery
ST CATHARINES – 13th Street Gallery located at 13th Street Winery, 1776 Fourth Avenue in St. Catharines is gearing up this spring to kick start the exhibition year with “Brock University, 2023”. Opening on Saturday April 1st, 2023, all are invited between 2 and 5 p.m. to meet the artists. As part of a growing partnership between 13th Street Gallery and Brock University this exhibition will showcase works by the 2023 graduating Visual Arts students and a selected group of Visual Arts faculty and alumni from the Marylin I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts.
“Creativity is communicative play at work as you will see in this group exhibition!” states Amy Friend, Chair of Visual Arts at the University who will be one of the artists that will be exhibiting her work. The other artists include, Graduating students: Emily Au, Emily MacDonald, Hannah Leal, Rachel Strangl, Sarah Puckett, Sydney Bolton, Taylor Elliott, Faculty: Amanda Burk, Arnold McBay, Lisa Cristinzo, Troy David Ouellette, Richard Smolinski, Donna Szoke, Peal Van Geest, Alumni: Lindsay Liboiron, Cree Tylee, Lindsay-Ann Chilcott, Terry Badgley and Hannah Holmes.
The exhibition will continue until Saturday April 29, 2023
Co-owner of 13th Street Winery, John Mann has been collecting and living with art for over fifty years, both at home and at work. Art has always been an integral part of the Winery’s vision to provide visitors with a unique experience that stimulates all the senses, not just taste.
13th Street Gallery opened its doors on November 2, 2019 offering guests the opportunity to view and purchase original artwork from the collection and beyond. The collection includes works by some of Canada’s most celebrated artists, including Harold Town of Toronto’s Painters Eleven and Jean-Paul Riopelle and Rita Letendre of Montreal’s Les Automatistes movements. The Gallery features both contemporary and historical Canadian fine art in a series of changing exhibitions. The Gallery is dedicated to selling Canadian art.
