Celebrated Local Artist Floyd Elzinga exhibits his first solo show at 13th Street Gallery
ST CATHARINES – 13th Street Gallery located at 1776 Fourth Avenue in St. Catharines is excited to announce Floyd Elzinga’s first solo exhibition opening Saturday July 16, 2022. One of Niagara’s celebrated artist, Floyd has been working with metal for over 20 years depicting Canada’s landscape in his original artworks. “I am drawn to the distinction between opposites. Subsequently, duality is an underlying theme in my work. I employ natural and non-traditional sculpting materials to create conceptual sculptures.” Floyd explains about his art.
Floyd received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, NS. He was initially drawn to steel, due to its malleable, plastic and forgiving nature, and he continues to utilize its range of colours as well as the way light plays off the surface. He has been exploring traditional metal working techniques to create textures and depth the same way a painter would use a paintbrush
All is welcome for the opening on Saturday July 16, 2022. Meet the artist, Floyd will be present between 2 and 5 p.m.

Co-owner of 13th Street Winery, John Mann has been collecting and living with art for over fifty years, both at home and at work. Art has always been an integral part of the Winery’s vision to provide visitors with a unique experience that stimulates all the senses, not just taste.
13th Street Gallery opened its doors on November 2, 2019 offering guests the opportunity to view and purchase original artwork from the collection and beyond. The collection includes works by some of Canada’s most celebrated artists, including Harold Town of Toronto’s Painters Eleven and Jean-Paul Riopelle and Rita Letendre of Montreal’s Les Automatistes movements. The Gallery features both contemporary and historical Canadian fine art in a series of changing exhibitions. The Gallery is dedicated to selling Canadian art.
