DRAPELL & SEVEN Official Press Release

The Official Press Release for 'DRAPELL' and 'SEVEN', dual exhibitions by John Mann Gallery.

St. Catharines, ON – May 2, 2024 – The John Mann Gallery is excited to announce two spectacular exhibitions opening on Saturday, May 25th, 2024.

"DRAPELL" showcases the works of esteemed Canadian artist Joseph Drapell, including new pieces and significant historical paintings that have been stored away for many years. Drapell's exhibition premieres on May 25th, featuring awe-inspiring pieces such as "Tribe, 1976," an acrylic masterpiece.

"Drapell has emerged as a towering figure... Today, he stands as one of the greatest masters of our age," said Prof. Kenworth W. Moffett, PhD, Curator at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, in 2018.

Following this, "SEVEN" highlights landscape paintings by Robert Amirault, Jody Clement, Joachim Gmoser, Chrissy Nickerson, Jill Sapiente, Svetlana Turov, and Ron Wilkie. Their diverse artworks, each with strong, distinctive styles, promise an engaging visual journey throughout the exhibition.

"It's a special opportunity to explore the various ways artists portray landscapes. We're excited to showcase Drapell's new works alongside those of other talented artists," said John Mann, owner and director of the John Mann Gallery and co-owner of 13th Street Winery.

This unique showcase invites art lovers to experience two distinct artistic visions concurrently, running from May 25th to June 22nd, 2024. Guests will also have the chance to meet the artists behind the exhibitions from 2 pm to 5 pm on opening day!
