ST CATHARINES – 13th Street Gallery located at 1776 Fourth Avenue in St. Catharines is proud to announce its next exhibition Recovery featuring works by Cynthia Chapman, Matt Bahen and St. Catharine’s very own Geoff Farnsworth which opens on Saturday April 3, 2021. Undoubtedly the pandemic has had a global socioeconomic impact of epic proportions. Recovery will be 13th Street Gallery’s first exhibition after lockdown.
It has been a very challenging year for Cynthia Chapman, and at times the isolation had disrupted motivation. Reaching within herself and tapping into inspiration, Cynthia has been busy painting away in her studio creating inspired compositions with a sense of movement and expressiveness in colour, balanced by harmony and contrast.
New to the gallery Geoff Farnsworth’s paintings is a wonderfully morphed spirit between disrupted realism and abstraction. Exhibiting in New York City, Washington DC, Minneapolis, Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Niagara Region, Norway, Sweden and Trinidad we are thrilled to be showing his new works for this exhibition.
Toronto artist Matt Bahen is primarily influenced by literature. Using a variety of motifs, such as fire, water and animals his impasto compositions are both highly emotive and engaging. If you have missed his last exhibition we have brought back a few of the works to be viewed with fresh eyes and a new perspective.
Artists will be present on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 2pm to 5pm
The exhibition will continue until Saturday May 1st, 2021
