ST CATHARINES – 13th Street Gallery located at 13th Street Winery, 1776 Fourth Avenue in St. Catharines announces its upcoming exhibition featuring two of Canadian’s unapologetic abstract artists Carlo Amantea and Walter Redinger. Opening on Saturday June 10, 2023, all are invited between 2 and 5 p.m., to meet the artist Carlo Amantea. Amantea who studied under the mentorship of esteemed senior artist Joseph Drapell will be featuring new works. His joyful wonder in nature’s beauty is expressed in his works through the combination of colour, images and textures. His unabashed, playful palette exemplifies his sense of curiosity and continuous exploration of the medium, capturing inspiration with the use of fluid gestural movements.
The late Walter Redinger was one of Canada’s preeminent sculptor during the late 1960s and 70s. Born in Wallacetown in 1940, Redinger grew up on a tobacco farm and would spend most of his life living in South Western Ontario. Having his first one man show in 1963 and was an active sculptor of more than 40 years. Walter passed away in 2014, he was best known for his large organic fibreglass sculptures and fearless drawings which will be on display at The Gallery.

13th Street Gallery opened its doors on November 2, 2019 offering guests the opportunity to view and purchase original artwork from the collection and beyond. The collection includes works by some of Canada’s most celebrated artists, including Harold Town of Toronto’s Painters Eleven and Jean-Paul Riopelle and Rita Letendre of Montreal’s Les Automatistes movements. The Gallery features both contemporary and historical Canadian fine art in a series of changing exhibitions. The Gallery is dedicated to selling Canadian art.
