New Works By Kyle Clements and Geoff Farnsworth at 13th Street Gallery

ST CATHARINES – 13th Street Gallery located at 13th Street Winery, 1776 Fourth Avenue in St. Catharines announces its upcoming exhibition featuring new works by two figurative abstract artists Kyle Clements and Geoff Farnsworth, which opens on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Everyone is welcome to MEET THE ARTISTS from 2 – 5 pm. This exhibition will showcase both artists’ joyful exploration of painting techniques from Clement’s Urban landscapes and Farnsworth’s beautiful nature scenes.

Kyle Clements a Toronto artist who studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design explores the tension between positive and negative spaces, hovering between figurative and abstraction. “My curiosity in photography and painting has led my artistic career on the path of discovering my surroundings through the camera’s lens and further in my studio.” Explains Clements. Clements has been exhibiting his works at 13th Street since the gallery opened in 2019 and continues to be a collector’s favourite.

These works by Geoff Farnsworth are in partnership with the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts exhibition of smaller paintings by the artist running from Sept. 26 to
Oct. 22, 2023. Farnsworth draws from his personal experiences and finds inspiration from his environment. “While painting, my attention moves between the intentional forming of images with abstraction, and allowing cues outside my immediate awareness to become melded into the works in progress,” Geoff explains. “I worked on these paintings mostly with a small collection of visual objects which through repetition become as much objects of meditative contemplation as any specific person, animal, or element of nature and environment. This helps my process to become less tied to initial and habitual impulse and more open to surprise and transformation.”

The exhibition continues until Saturday, October 21, 2023
