New Exhibition at 13th Street Gallery opens this Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022
ST CATHARINES – 13th Street Gallery located at 1776 Fourth Avenue in St. Catharines will be featuring Niagara-on-the-Lake artist Ronald Boaks and International artist Patricia Gagic which opens this Saturday, September. 24, 2022. With an art career spanning over four decades, this impressive Ronald Boaks exhibition will showcase works from 1985 to 2022. Working in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture and collage, Boaks is best known for his vivid expressive abstract paintings in which he aims to reflect beauty, balance, desire and humour. “The earliest works are landscapes; close-up representations of the detailed colour and texture of rock. They evolved into ideal landscapes and morphed into Modernist ‘acts of painting’. Then my more Romantic inclinations brought in flower or the female form in collage. These meanderings between Modernist and Romantic dualities have led me to my most recent works,” explains Boaks.
Patricia Gagic is an accomplished international contemporary artist and an award-winning author. Gagic exhibited with BB International Fine Arts in Switzerland with her work accepted at art fairs in Geneva, Berlin, France, Austria, Zurich, London United Kingdom and Seoul, Korea. The Lodger Series by Gagic was inspired by Side Eye NYC, a recent work by guitarist Pat Metheny. One piece in particular titled Lodger became a mantra in her studio. The relationship between music and art has played a significant role in the creation of these works.
All are welcome for the opening on Saturday Sept. 24, 2022.
Artists present from 2 to 5 p.m.
Exhibition will run until Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022
