Showing Historical Works by Canadian Artist Joseph Drapell

A book chronicling the artist’s work and 50-year-long friendship with Dr. Ken Carpenter will launch at the exhibition

13th Street Gallery is known for featuring some beautiful art exhibitions.

This time, they’ll be featuring the works of Canadian senior artist Joseph Drapell.

In an exhibition called “Re-Inventing Landscape”, the art gallery, located at 1776 Fourth Ave. in St. Catharines, will showcase some early pivotal works by Drapell to show the scope of his 40 years of development, and the roots of his new body of works from 2022.

Drapell’s art can be found in major Canadian and International collections such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the National Gallery, Prague, The British Museum, London, Museum of Modern Art, Vienna, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Art Gallery of Hamilton.

Along with the exhibition will be the launch of Ken Carpenter’s newest book, ‘Joseph Drapell: Re-Inventing Landscape’.

The hardcover book is 116 pages that study Drapell’s works and recalls Carpenter’s 50-year friendship with the artist.

Carpenter passed away Sept. 30, 2022.

The art presentation will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 29, and the exhibition will run until Nov. 26.
