St. Catharines, ON – October 26, 2024 – The John Mann Gallery is proud to present a special exhibition featuring the personal art collection of its late founder, John Mann. The exhibition, titled Succession, will open November 16, 2024. As a long-time collector of important Canadian art, John Mann curated an extraordinary selection of works that is available to the public.
John Mann, a prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist, had a deep passion for Canadian art, which he collected throughout his life. His collection includes over 300 significant works by renowned Canadian artists such as Jean-Paul Riopelle, Harold Town, Rita Letendre, and more, reflecting his dedication to supporting the arts. His vision for showcasing established and emerging Canadian artists was realized with the opening of the John Mann Gallery in 2019. This exhibition celebrates John’s love for art and his enduring influence on the Niagara Region’s art scene.
The exhibition will rotate bi-weekly, offering visitors new artworks to experience each time they visit. This dynamic approach will provide fresh insights into the remarkable Mann Collection.
Through his gallery and his philanthropic work, John Mann left a lasting legacy of generosity and faith. This exhibition offers an intimate look at his personal passion for art, which remains an integral part of his legacy. His family and the John Mann Gallery are proud to continue sharing this legacy with the community.
