Collection: Karole Marois

Karole Marois, originally from Ottawa, is an established contemporary figurative painter based in Prince Edward County Ontario. A Fine Arts graduate of the Ontario College of Art (now OCADU), she also holds a diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence Italy, with a specialty in pain ng and anatomy.

While pursuing a career as a professional artist, Karole worked as a portraitist, a portrait teacher, a courtroom artist, and a muralist. For many years, she painted large heritage murals for the National Museums and Parks Canada, while exhibiting her own personal artwork in various art galleries and museums. Her paintings can be found in private and public collections in Canada, the US and Europe.

Karole received a number of grants from the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts and presented several public exhibitions that often-combined poetry and painting. A long- time member of the Canadian Artists Representation/Front des artistes canadines (CARFAC), she is also a member of the Prince Edward County and Quinte Arts Councils.
