Collection: Krit Sekhon
Krit Sekhon exhibited at the John Mann Gallery EXPRESSION 2024 exhibition.
Krit Sekhon is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art at Brock University's Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, Krit's dedication to her craft has been recognized by the 13th Street Winery Expression Award, as well as membership in the Golden Key International Honour Society.
As a visual artist based in the Greater Toronto Area Krit channels her creativity through acrylic painting and mixed media techniques. Raised in Canada by Punjabi immigrant parents, Krit finds inspiration in merging elements from Eastern and Western cultures within her art. Exploring themes such as social media, pop culture, and the experiences of South Asians in the diaspora, Krit ventures beyond traditional boundaries, experimenting with various artistic mediums including video art, photography, and sculpture.
In her work, Sekhon delves into her unique upbringing as an Indo-Canadian woman, seamlessly blending the beauty and traditions of her cultural heritage with the independence and carefree spirit of North American Gen Z. Through her art, she invites viewers to explore, understand, and appreciate the complexities of identity and belonging in today's multicultural society.
