Anja Steensma exhibited at the John Mann Gallery SQUARE FOOT 2024 exhibition.

Anja Steensma is a Contract Interior Designer who has worked in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. As a figurative painter, Anja depicts her subjects in day-to-day activities, while exploring value, balance, colour and composition in her paintings.

“I always look for abstract qualities in the composition, looking for the contrast of urban linear forms against freeform natural elements. Boats and reflections are often subjects I am drawn to.”

Her paintings have been shown at the Pumphouse Gallery in Niagara on the Lake, the Grimsby Community Exhibition Space and twice at the Visa Gallery in Brock University, St Catharines. She is also part of the Niagara Plein Air Artists.
